What this tool does

Rotates pages by 90, 180 or 270 degrees. Apply the rotation to every page at once, or select individual pages that need fixing.

When to use Rotate PDF

  • Scanner output. The single most common reason. Documents fed in the wrong orientation, or a scanner that rotates landscape pages automatically and gets it wrong.
  • Mixed orientation documents. A report where the financial tables are landscape and the text pages are portrait, scanned as one batch and now inconsistent.
  • Phone photographs converted to PDF. Phones record orientation metadata that not every application interprets the same way.
  • Documents received sideways. Reading a contract by tilting your head is a poor use of anyone's time.

Why it is useful

  • A readable PDF is easier to review and faster to share.
  • It avoids repeated resend requests caused by a tired or misaligned scan.
  • The quick preview flow lets you rotate only the pages that need correction.

How to use Rotate PDF

  1. 1. Upload your PDF file.
  2. 2. Choose a rotation angle or select only the pages that need adjustment.
  3. 3. Preview the pages and confirm the sequence before export.
  4. 4. Download the corrected PDF when the output looks right.

Privacy and safety note

pdf-lib sets the rotation property on each page you select. This is a property change rather than a re-render — the page content is untouched, which is why rotation is instant even on large documents and why quality is unaffected. Everything happens in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Does rotating reduce quality?

No. Rotation changes a property on the page rather than redrawing it. Text stays searchable and images keep their original resolution.

Will the rotation stick in every PDF reader?

Yes. Page rotation is part of the PDF specification and is respected universally.

Can I fix a page scanned at a slight angle?

Not here. That requires deskewing, which is a different operation.

Can I rotate only the landscape pages automatically?

Not automatically, but the thumbnail view makes them easy to identify and select.

Is anything uploaded?

No.
